We opened our doors here at Coast2city detailing three years ago from a passion for cars, with customer service and results at the forefront.
You probably have a lot of pride with your investment. As you should!
Living on the coast, our vehicles face the elements on a daily basis much more than in other areas. We keep your investment protected on the outside, and looking amazing on the inside so that you can get that WOW factor from everyone who sees your vehicle(s).
At Coast2City Detailing, we specialize in Ceramic Coatings within the Wilmington areas, because we know that it is the best protection for our clients vehicles. (add, but what is a ceramic coating?)
Most of the time if you wanted to have this service done on your vehicle(s), you would need to drop off your vehicle and arrange a ride back. What we do is a bit different because we have your convenience in mind. We have the ability to detail, decontaminate, correct and coat your vehicle's painted surfaces directly from the comfort of your home.
Here are some of the benefits of ceramic coatings, in order of importance for having a ceramic coating in Wilmington:
You’ve seen what salt air does to surfaces here…
a.) especially the closer you are to the beach. Salt air causes rust, paint to tarnish, aluminum and metals to look cloudy, hard water spots to form and sun fading. We are able to coat every surface on your vehicle to provide the utmost protection.
b.) The sun's intensity in Wilmington and surrounding areas causes sun fading, especially to plastics… but over time this also fades your paints clear coat.
Most carnauba wax like our fathers and grandfathers used, breaks down at 160- 185 degrees, and usually lasts 2 months to protect your paint. However, when you combine temperature (especially if you have a dark color vehicle) and salt air… that wax that might last 3 months in an inland climate may only last 2-3 weeks.
Professional grade car sealants that we use here at Coast2City detailing can withstand higher temperatures and last longer (4-6 months). Even then, under the right conditions, it breaks down much faster.
c.) Believe it or not, bird droppings have a devastating effect on your vehicle's paint. Not only is it unsightly and not convenient to clean fast… but the acidity behind it is to break down your clear coat in as little as 10 mins! This is why it is essential to have some form of car wax, car sealant, or ceramic coating on your vehicle.
Imagine walking up to your vehicle when it’s dirty and it looks absolutely stunning from a distance
a.) Ceramic coatings make your vehicle easier to maintain. Washes are easier, bugs come off easier, and in many cases… Rain alone makes the vehicle clean. Due to the nature of ceramic coatings, they are nonstick. If you were to pour water on a wet vehicle in fact, the water would dry the vehicle! Along with being easier to clean… and protection from the coastal elements, you will be WOW’d by the gloss of the paint. You get a deep reflective surface, similar to when you first waxed your vehicle. There is nothing like it!
Many people report their vehicles looking clean even when covered in dirt or pollen… this is due to the appearance of the coating on your painted surface. Many times, with pollen, just driving will knock 95% of it off.
Interior coatings
Ceramic coatings can also be applied to the interior surfaces of your vehicle and bond quite well. The benefits of having an interior ceramic coating done by us here at Coast2City Detailing are as follows:
a.) Protection against sun fading
b.) Barrier against burns, tears, and rips.
This is due to the nature of the ceramic coating being harder than a clear coat.
Believe it or not, every surface on the interior of your vehicle is coated with a clear coat. (yes, even those fine Italian leather seats). This is to protect the surfaces and keep the dye off of your clothes. There are a few exceptions where there is not a clear coat… such as Ford King Ranch Saddle leather… although new models are clear coated.
c.) cleans up with ease
Jean dye transfer? Spill sticky coffee?
Interior coatings make cleaning up a breeze.
So… What are the next steps?
We like to evaluate every vehicle and meet your needs and expectations.
There are many different longevity options available and we assess the condition of your paint on a case by case basis. We want to make the paint look as great as possible before applying this semi-permanent coating, and therefore assess each car as we go.
